Özhan Öçal obtained his BSc degree from Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of Bilkent University in 2006. He went to Graduate School of University of Texas Medical Center in Dallas, TX, in USA and obtained his PhD degree in 2011 from its Genetics and Development program. During his graduate school and postdoctoral studies at University of Texas Medical Center, he worked on identification of early markers of diabetes mellitus and pancreatic cancer and outcome of chemotherapeutic drugs using mouse models. He came back to Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of Bilkent University in 2018 as full time instructor.
